We have something similar in Korea – except that we say your mouth is bored.

“The meal isnt over when I’m full, the meal is over when i hate myself” – Louie CK

I have a bag full of crunchy triangle friends.

Interesting a culture has this phrase but doesn’t have an obesity epidemic.

Further clarification from a primarily English speaker currently living in Japan amongst native speakers. It literally translate to “lonely mouth” and it’s when you eat because you’re bored. It is not to denote or imply sadness. Also fun Japanese word is *komurebii* which means the “light through the leaves” which I think is whimsically beautiful.
