How about just to get across Austin in decent time

Get the scientists working on the tube technology immediately

Texas homes do not have basements because of unstable soil with high clay content with wildly varying magnitude of expansion when it absorbs water. This will be a maintenance nightmare.

A mile long vacuum tube sounds expensive and dangerous, and they want to make it hundreds of miles long?

People need to realize that hyperloop is not possible. Just look it up. On paper, if you ignore facts like thermal expansion, then suuuuure it works fine. But it doesn’t work.
