There are a lot of factors working in his favor. By far the vast majority of his deliveries are done in the northern hemisphere, as most of the worlds population lives there, and a majority of cultures that celebrate Christmas. Christmas is only a few days after the winter solstice, so nights are close to the longest of the whole year. The further north you go, the longer the nighttime. Many areas that he delivers to will have close to 24 hours of darkness where he can deliver. All in all, he has almost 36 hours to deliver presents, assuming he starts as it gets dark and finishes in the morning.
