This tip is well-intended. But faking stuff? That’s gonna be a no from me. Better to surround oneself with people who accept and know the real you. If you don’t like the gift, you don’t have to be an ass to refuse it, just as you don’t have to dissimulate it is the best thing ever. Say thanks and move on, and if they get asking-asking, just say it’s not your kind of thing but you value the intention behind.


Appreciate that someone took the time to try to make you feel special, that’s the gift. The item is a reflection and reminder they care.
