Without seeing details of the algorithm why are people going immediately to the race angle? Couldn’t it be that less drivers operate in that area, or less customers available?


I’d be interested to see the crime rate differences of the areas. Higher crime rate = higher risk = higher fares


In New Orleans, cabs would outright refuse to drive me home to a majority black neighborhood. Not that Uber gets a pass on this disparity, but at least they’ll drive me home.


I always wondered if there were demographic differences. I always assumed it was just based on mileage and time of day, but wtf do I know.
