autistic adult here to say: my cats are the best thing in my world. perfect cuddly buddies. if your autistic child can respect the animal’s boundaries, definitely consider a cat!

I have mild autism and I really like cats, always have. I’m pretty sure my dad is a little autistic too and he’s always had cats. Not a fan of dogs though, they are way too unpredictable, loud, smelly and eager for attention! Just my perception, I know I’m in the minority
