Also a very small percent of bones survive that long. If all bones survived that long we would be wading in a bone cemetery instead of walking on dirt.


Humans can ruin teeth in less than a year. Just don’t brush and eat candy everyday.


Maybe if those bones were bathed in sugar water constantly, they’d rot quickly too.

Teeth can become fossils too, y’know. At that point they’re not really bones and teeth, but minerals (rocks, essentially) in the shape of bones and teeth, with maybe some leftover chemical elements that wouldn’t be present if they hadn’t originally been bones and teeth to differentiate them from the surrounding rock.
