Why the fuck aren’t cross country trips done via rail?


Well. That’s the end of long haul truck driving as a profession right there. I knew it was coming, but I didn’t think about just how obvious the arrival would be.


Machines don’t take a wage, need fair treatment , or unionize. Even if it was slower they would pick the machine.


The eventual state of our society is going to resemble the antebellum South, with a tiny number of wealthy people controlling robots instead of slaves, and everyone else drifting around the fringes in poverty.
