“If you were to keep the idea that maybe you would vote to kill the filibuster, wouldn’t that give Republicans an incentive to actually negotiate? Because ‘Old Joe Manchin’s out there and who knows what he’s gonna do.’ By taking it off the table, haven’t you empowered Republicans to be obstructionists?” the Fox News host asked. Bingo.

WOW if Chris Wallace is saying you might be naive for trusting republicans… you know the party has drifted really really crazy

>The Democratic senator argued that there are still a number of Republican senators who vote for “what they know is right, the facts as they see them—not worrying about the political consequences.” Anyone looking over Republican voting trends for the last couple of years can see that this is not true.

Who knew Chris Wallace would emerge as one of the few principled journalist at Fox News.

Amazing that it takes a conservative news host to actually challenge this guy on his absurd and illogical talking points. Here’s the issue, though. He’s aware his arguments are nonsense. He doesn’t care. This is all about self-interest and serving the groups and corporations who butter his bread. He’s fine with nothing happening legislatively, and I’d wager he’d even be okay with the GOP in charge. This man is not concerned with any kind of greater good. He’s been a governor and now a senator from WV. It’s still one of the poorest states in the country. He’s done nothing for his constituents
