LPT: If you need a functional but not necessarily high quality tool or kitchen item check a nearby dollar store. You’ll be very surprised to find just how many items you can find for a fraction of normal retail.

I remember a post similar to this but with tools instead of kitchen equipment. It’s okay to cheap out but if you find yourself having to replace an item, then that’s a sign that it’s time to buy a higher quality version.


The only problem with buying something at a fraction of the normal cost is you get a fraction of the normal quality. I’m not saying the dollar store is a bad place to shop, just something to keep in mind


Buy stuff at restaurant supply places. It’s cheap and extra durable. Dollar store is landfill fodder.


Kitchen might be one of those places where dropping an extra buck or two will save you in the long run though.
