*This lunacy:* “…This week, Governor Greg Abbott appeared to double down on his early assessment that wind and solar were prime culprits of the freeze.”

>A special legislative session convened Thursday but the agenda did not include any measures to fix the power grid. This week, Governor Greg Abbott appeared to double down on his early assessment that wind and solar were prime culprits of the freeze. A working power grid isn’t exactly state of the art technology. Any Texan that votes for Abbot, or any returning politician, again is literally a moron.

I still don’t understand how this is legal in a state with price gouging laws. In Texas, during a declared emergency businesses are not allowed to charge exorbitant prices. For instance, after a hurricane with water out if a store starts selling 20oz water bottles for ~~$20~~ $150 each (75 times normal which is what the gas companies did) it could face fines of $10,000 per transaction. HOW THE FUCK ARE THE GAS SELLERS GETTING AROUND THAT SAME LAW?

This is what the people of Texas wanted. They wanted no regulations on these companies. They wanted a separate energy grid. They voted for people who would make these things happen. I don’t know why any Texans would be surprised by this when this is what they voted for.
