Good for Maine, and New Mexico (which abolished CAF years ago), but really, this should be federal law, it squarely falls under ‘unreasonable search and seizure’.


Ranked choice voting? No civil forfeiture? Who knew Maine was so progressive?


Call me crazy, but I don’t think any state should be able to unilaterally seize property — especially not in a punitive way. Double especially not when the police stand to benefit fiscally from any seizures.
