The world is burning as our governments play the fiddle

DDLAKES

So guys, listen here. As I understand it, this topic is very poorly covered in the world media.I will be as brief as possible: we have burned down more than 1 million hectares of forest, which stands on the permafrost. And it continues to burn. How this will affect us and the whole world as a whole, I do not know. But one feels that this is all very serious, alas.

Just waiting for the day the sky catches fire. Maybe the floods will put it out.

Call me a pessimist, but I have no faith in the human race. The world is fucked simply because capitalism has deemed things like our environment unimportant and (ultimately) expendable. It’s just the cost of doing business and the elite have no problem riding this out till the end just as long as they have a first class ticket. I have no faith that meaningful changes can be made at this point. We can’t even get half the population to wear a fucking mask even if it means saving their own ass. There’s no way we can get them to stop driving their trucks everywhere or eat less meat or stop taking cruises. We definitely can’t stop China from being a major polluter. It’s just fucked. My wife and I aren’t having kids and I feel like the least I can do is try not to impose our impending doom on anyone else. Cherish the planet and society as you know it while you can because lack of education and resentment of intelligence from the majority of the population has absolutely condemned us and we will fail as a species at the rate we’re going.
