Hard to believe the Civil War was just 99 short years ago.. Oh, wait.


But now the hapless people of Lafayette won’t know anything about the Civil War and there is no other possible way for them to learn about it!


Fun fact: The guy that this city is named after, Lafayette, was an abolitionist who helped outlaw slavery in France in 1794.

As a born and bred southerner, I’m so glad these statues are coming down. It’s way past time.
