Barbie Girl by Aqua “You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere.” During my childhood I misheard it as, You can brush my hair *and dress* me everywhere. More than 10 years later I realized that the song wasn’t about playing with Barbie dolls.

Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day. >I walk a lonely road The only one that I have ever known Don’t know where it goes But it’s **home to me**, and I walk alone How many people thought it was “but it’s **only me**”? I still feel like it could be the real lyric and everyone else is just mishearing it. Sure it would have been a bit redundant, but damnit I still stand by it.

I thought he was saying boys hole, he was saying boy’s soul.

True story: I was a child when “Never Gonna Give You Up” first came out, and I wasn’t yet paying attention to song titles, or, apparently, much of the verses. Every time he sang “never” in the chorus, I heard “then we’re”, which DRASTICALLY changes the meaning of the song. “Then we’re gonna give you up Then we’re gonna let you down Then we’re gonna run around and desert you Then we’re gonna make you cry Then we’re gonna say goodbye Then we’re gonna tell a lie and hurt you” I grew up thinking Rick Astley and his friends were a bunch of cold-hearted bastards until Rick-rolling became a thing and I listened to the song again. Sorry, Rick. You’re an okay guy.

What’s My Age Again – Blink 182 “I wore cologne, to get the feeling right” For at least 15 years I thought it was “I walk alone to get the feeling right”
