China wastes almost 30% of its food. Although almost half of the loss occurs during food storage and processing, out-of-home eating, including at food stalls, restaurants and canteens, produces some 45 million tonnes of food waste each year, the researchers found.

How are they doing much better than we are is what I would like to know. We’ re producing mainly processed food that hardly rots and it is still wasted.


Terrible, most of the western world is worse, but still terrible


Not sure why they’re pointing specifically at China. It’s about the same here in the US.


That’s not to bad when compared to the rest of the world.


I am surprised that waste food is not given to animal and insect farms, I never expected any food goods to actually be wasted in China. Shows how much I dont know.
