NANOG is a transcriptional factor that helps embryonic stem cells maintain pluripotency by suppressing cell determination factors. As it’s involved in the self-renewal of embryonic stem cells these results aren’t particularly surprising

Research also shows that regular caloric deprivation increases lifespan ~30% in numerous bacterial and animal models. It can also rejuvenate stem cells (reverse aging related issues) and reverse cellular stress related damage at the molecular level.

Couldn’t this possibly be carcinogenic? Some cells should die and without being able to differentiate the ones you want to rejuvenate and the ones that should die it sounds like it could cause or exacerbate cancer.
