I wonder if this has anything to do with the inflammatory activation and its neural activity alteration that we see among depressed patients. That part about lactylation possibly being activated by social stress + its genetic inhibition/activation feature really hint at that

Wow! Thank you so much for posting this! It is so hopeful and refreshing to see relatively simple findings like this. As I understand it, it is possible to follow one cell to other nerve cells, to other layers of nerve cells, and see how they influence each other. Yet we still have no concrete causes or cures for brain and nervous system diseases. I asked a neurologist, if this is so, why can we not cure brain diseases and disorders? She said what we need to know is what these networks actually do, the biochemistry of the networks. It looks like this research is a step in that direction.
