Anything really long term is going to need gravity. I think they’re testing the limits as it is right now and humans simply can’t handle weightlessness for long durations.

The interesting part would be: how much gravity do you really need to avoid these effects? Maybe even 0.1 G is enough, maybe you actually need close to 1 G.
