I think this study is potentially overlooking a major confounding variable: fuzziness.


Thoughts: * People love oak trees a lot more than I expected * Not including any domestic animals is understandable but a real missed opportunity (dogs, cats, horses, cows etc…) * I would be very interested to see where octopuses landed (other ‘smart’ animals like whales and dolphins get a big bump) * It looks like people are more empathetic to orangutans than they are to other people


I personally care more about dogs than monkeys
