Vanguard Customer Service is now horrifically inept.

I’ve had accounts with Vanguard, Fidelity, and Schwab for various reasons. Never felt like one of them had much better or worse customer service. These are all discount brokerage firms… of course they are not going to be obsessive about offering expensive concierge service. If you are angry with Vanguard by all means move, but I feel like this is one of those “I’m never flying on XX airline again!” rants.

Always has been. Combined with their website crapping out periodically I’ve been parking all new contributions to Fidelity the past few years. Funnily enough, a decent chunk of those are actually in Vanguard etfs, so I get the best of both worlds.

> They only confirmed the .3% fee after I explicitly pointed out that this is not a free offering and doesn’t go against the boglehead approach to reduce fees if at all possible. Why didn’t you just say “no”. You don’t need to give a lecture. I promise you any other brokerage will continue to offer you these services.

Counterpoint: I just rolled my Vanguard company sponsored 401K into my existing Vanguard Rollover account online. It took about 5 minutes of clicking selections to confirm what I was doing, and the transfer of funds was completed within 24 hours. Within 48 hours, the reinvested funds had settled. Why bother calling CS for something you can easily do yourself?

I’m reading through all these comments and I’m thinking, damn, I almost never have any issues with their website or app (except the new app missing some functionality currently). Not trying to discount anyone’s experiences here but is this another case of a loud vocal minority? I have nothing against Fidelity or Schwab either.
