Tech companies are underreporting the greenhouse gas emissions. Out of 56 major tech companies surveyed, corporate reports omit half of the total emissions in 2019. At approximately 390 megatons CO2 equivalents, the omitted emissions are in the same ballpark as the carbon footprint of Australia.

SAP has the largest absolute reporting inconsistency. This is actually irony. Microsoft, Alphabet, HP, Nokia, Seagate, TDK and Ericsson are all reporting approximately correctly. I wonder if IBM looking a mess is related to its hybrid research-foundry-other tech stuff activities.
