While I’m thankful we don’t have the worst president in history, I’d rather be thankful that we had protected voting rights and made meaningful differences in people’s lives by expanding medicare, forgiving student loans (and no, I don’t have any outstanding student loans, I paid mine back) and ensuring a living wage tied to the cost of inflation. I don’t want next year to be a bloodbath. Edit: Since I keep getting the same reply, “I’d rather be thankful that we had” explicitly means that we have not.

I’m grateful for everyone who has taken steps to slow the virus, wearing a mask and taking the trusted vaccine!

I’m grateful that there’s someone in the White House who isn’t blatantly trying to overthrow democracy, and set up a dictatorship with thousands of nukes and skin thinner than wet, recycled toilet paper.

Stop making science out to be a religion. You don’t “believe ” in science. You interpret the information gathered from a study. Sometimes it is a good study and you change your world view to fit that narrative, sometimes it’s a shitty study and you reject it. Fuck.

I’m grateful for a President that isn’t a complete pants-shitting imbecile with a severe psycopathic mental disorder and a profound detachment from reality. That’s now my low bar. I don’t know how we got to the place in history where that’s my low bar, but, it is. There are a lot of people out there I disagree with and would be unhappy if they became President, but I’d still be happier with any of them than with a pants-shitting imbecile.
