I make salmon patties with canned salmon. Mix the canned salmon (If you use the kind with bones, you can just crush the bones then mix it up) with beaten egg, some onion and parsley, a little mustard, pepper, and thyme (Or whatever seasonings you prefer. Needs the egg or some other binder though) form into patties, roll in breadcrumbs, cracker crumbs, or even rolled oats. Cook until nicely browned on each side. Eat with a salad, or soup, or whatever side you want.


a can of fish a day costs about 1/8 the monthly salary in my country -_-


Chicken liver or beef liver is another low cost protein option.


Salmon is insanely expensive where I live.. I use canned tuna, works as well!


Tinned sardines are also a cheap option. Here in the UK they are around 30p a tin.
