So the deal with oils is that they are calorically dense, in a way that is unintuitive to everyone who isn’t a nutrition geek. But cis polyunsaturated fats and monounsaturated fats lower risk of heart disease when they are replacing saturated fat in the diet. So how is social media, which acts like it is poison, so wrong on this? Well, I think as with most misinformation you see, people understood how to create arguments that superficially resemble good arguments. But when you look closer, you find profound issues in reasoning.
