WA state here, glad to have another.

TL;DR “The insurance program will offer workers up to 12 weeks paid time off to welcome newborn babies, take care of sick or ailing relatives, recover from medical issues or prepare for a military deployment. New parents who also experience a separate illness or family crisis would be able to take an additional 12 weeks of leave.” And for our next trick, Maryland is going to legalize recreational cannabis in November. Staring to appreciate my state more and more.

How does this impact payroll taxes paid by employers? Especially if you’re remote, working for a company outside of Maryland?

I love ny’s paid family leave. But I’ve had 3 kids and only taken 3 weeks of the 30 allowed.

Nice to see a state going forward for a change.
