At the end of the trip, the car still had 15 percent battery state of charge, which would’ve been good for another 140 kilometers (87 miles). Mercedes-Benz says that the car’s average consumption was “a record-breaking low of 8.7 kWh per 100 kilometres.”


I think it’s impressive the managed this on regular roads at speeds you’d normally drive. Hopefully we can keep pushing efficiency.


We did it. Gas prices more annoying and expensive on the long run than getting one of these when it comes out.


Is 1000km considered 1 megameter?


One very important detail that wasn’t included in the article is the average speed, as you can hypermile some cars to 1000km, but it takes days. In the original post from Mercedes, the average speed was 87.4km/h. That is amazing, even while being in suboptimal conditions.
