Definitely something I wish I had realized as a kid. I have a much better relationship with my mom now than I did as a kid, but it took me being out on my own to realize that she wasn’t a horrible mom but was just trying to make the best decisions she could with the cards she had.

Agreed, no parent has all the answers or will avoid all mistakes. A good parent will reflect upon the mistakes made and hopefully discuss with their children so that the future isn’t repeated, though.

Yeah… That doesn’t exactly give them the excuse to act like assholes though.
